2013, St David’s Day, Authentically Welsh launched On-line bringing high quality fresh Welsh foods from local Welsh Farmers and Artisan Producers to guests staying at holiday cottages; primarily in the Brecon Beacons area.

Seasonal turnaround days saw supermarket vans whizzing along remote lanes bringing the weekly shop to the cottage door. Unloading endless plastic carrier bags without a single item of local food in sight. Holidaying guests would come and go without experiencing the delicious award-winning foods which Wales had to offer.

In May that year, during Hay-on-Wye’s Literature Festival, Authentically Welsh hosted a pop-up shop in the centre of Hay and welcomed a distinguished Visitor, HRH Prince Charles. As the shop was dressed top to bottom with small hay bales exhibiting all the tasty Welsh foods, on entering HRH said to Camilla ‘Oh look hay from Hay’ – a lovely amusing comment shared between them!

From initially sourcing fresh local Welsh foods delivered direct to the holiday cottage fridge, the business evolved into hand picked and packed luxury bespoke Hampers for all occasions. Expanding to offer a range of unique Welsh gifts from homemade lavender hearts to Welsh woollen IPad cases.

Authentically Welsh prides itself on sourcing only 100% Welsh produced Artisan foods & drinks for its’ customers.
