Authentically Welsh was an idea hatched & finally sealed on St David’s Day, 1st March 2010, when Visitors to Hay-on-Wye holiday cottage, asked me to receive their food shop. Eventually a van turned up and twenty-one carrier bags later the kitchen was awash with plastic packaging – to my surprise it wasn’t the local supermarket but a major one twenty odd miles away! Past experience of traffic hold-ups and arriving late had meant an empty fridge until morning! Not ideal for any Visitor. The seed had been sown. Authentically Welsh grew. Akin to the Welsh countryside, I want to grow and blossom the business and to do this I need your support and feedback. New foods are being introduced and trialed at food fayres all the time. So if they go down a storm they are introduced online so you the customer gets the sourcing done for you. However, if you want something that is not currently online then let me know and I will do my utmost to source it. I bring you local foods at the highest quality sourced in the Brecon Beacons made by award winning artisan producers or for certain products I have to travel slightly further afield across Wales to find you the best. I take pride in only selling products, which have been grown, made or manufactured in Wales. Hence fresher foods as less travelled ‘food’ miles and reduced carbon footprint.
